Depression Treatment

What is Depression?

Everyone has experienced feeling sad or unhappy, but when do these feelings become a concern? If these feelings last for weeks or months this can be a sign of depression. Depression is an illness that affects people emotionally, physically, mentally, socially and/or spiritually.

If you are struggling with depression, you are not alone. It is one of the most common chronic health conditions in the world. It is estimated that 7-12% of men and 20-25% of women will suffer from depression at some point in their lifetime.

Service Overview

Belen Community Care can help you overcome your depression and start enjoying your life more. Many of these treatments have been developed by our own team, have been very effective in randomized controlled trials, and are subject to high levels of quality control. All our therapists are accredited CBT therapists and receive clinical supervision to ensure the quality of treatment. We have an active service user group who advise us on both research and service provision.

Belen Community Care specializes in evidence-based, innovative approaches to diagnosing and treating patients with depression. We are dedicated to helping patients and families by providing state-of-the-art, personalized and compassionate mental health care. Our treatment team can provide either ongoing medication management or a one-time comprehensive psycho pharmacological evaluation.

If you think you are one of the many people who suffer from depression, help is available, and healing is possible. Our Mental health professionals can help you determine if you are experiencing depression, or if there is another cause for your symptoms. They can also provide effective treatment if, in fact, you do have depression. Most people benefit from a combination of treatments, including counseling, exercise, changes in diet, lifestyle changes, and, at times, medication.
